Detroit Riverfront Conservancy // Press Relations
An $80M civic park and a once-in-a-generation moment for Detroit.
A project of this scale — designed by the firm that designed the Brooklyn Bridge Park, backed by one of the largest philanthropic investments in the city's history — needed press materials that illustratively told that story to share with journalists and media partners. A kit without intention feels forgettable and gets lost in a sea of material journalists receive daily. A carefully curated one makes them feel like they'd be missing out on something really big if they didn't cover it.
Working with a graphic designer, I built the press kit and media preview documents that positioned the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park at a high-brow level: nationally significant, not just locally newsworthy. The outreach I did & pitches I wrote landed coverage in Fast Company, among other national outlets.
